Biography
I have been teaching at University of North Florida for five years. I have taught Introduction to Education (EDF1005) and Classroom Management and Communication (EDG4410). I've worked with interns in both St. John's County and Duval County. Prior to that I taught at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I've taught first, second and third grades in Brooklyn, New York, Falls Church, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. I love working with a diverse student population, and when I taught second grade in Virginia most of my students were learning English as their second language. I was one of the first 900 teachers in the country to earn National Board Certification.
My husband and I have two daughters, ages 11 and 9. There is a lot of drama in our house! We also have a gorgeous yellow lab who we adopted through Lab Rescue of Florida. We are currently fostering a sweet and gentle black lab through Lab Rescue.
