Edward Hebert School of Medicine and later tenured full Professor, Graduate School of Nursing, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland. Completed a career in U.S. Navy: prior Director, Blood Bank and Transfusion Service, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD and Director of the Navy Blood Program (NABS). Prior assignments included Clinical Laboratory /Blood Bank Officer at various Naval Medical facilities. Previous graduate academic appointments include Florida International University, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bowling Green State University, Catholic University of America, George Washington University and National Institute of Health, Foundation for the Advancement of Science.


Research Interests: infection control, prevention of nosocomial infections, the perioperative environment, blood transfusion practices, hematology parameters


Other interests: reading, veteran service associations, boating, golf
