PCard Update

The Purchasing Department is pleased to announce that now, more than ever, it will be easier for you or your staff members to obtain a UNF Pcard. The Pcard program will no longer require applicants to attend a formal training class before a Pcard can be issued. Instead, new cardholders must meet with the Pcard Administrator, Tim Watterson, for an overview of the program policy and procedures. New cardholders will sign an agreement stating that they understand the responsibility of the card. New members will also be given a Pcard manual that will cover more in-depth the Pcard program, as well as a listing of commodities that are allowable and non-allowable.  Should you have several new cardholders in your department/unit/division, you can schedule a visit to your location from Tim.  This new streamlined process is being brought about by the overwhelming response campus wide for expansion of the procurement card program.

It is important to note that ALL cardholders must have an Account Manager/Business Manager who has attended their required training.  These classes will continue on a monthly basis and must be attended by all staff members that are responsible for transactions for Pcard holders. Please consult the Center for Professional Development and Training calendar for training class times, and classroom numbers. Classes will resume in January 2007.

The Purchasing department is encouraging department office managers and those that travel on University business to use the UNF Visa procurement card. The Pcard is an excellent way for your department to make small routine purchases directly for desktop delivery and reduce the number of standing orders issued by the purchasing department.   Travelers may use the card for conference registrations, hotel reservations, airfare and more.  Watch Campus Update for news regarding the program.

Contact Tim Watterson, P-Card Administrator, at ext. 1738 for more information.
