Various Company Credit Cards for UNF Use

The Controller's Office would like to alert the campus community that we have several companies who would like to make offers to the University community for the use of their company credit cards.

Please do not accept or complete any applications for a credit card for business such as Publix, BJ Discount Center, SAMS, Home Depot, or other companies who may wish to offer these cards. The only University authorized credit card that departments and employees may obtain to conduct official University of North Florida business is a properly issued Procurement Card or PCard.

PCards are only issued or authorized by the University Purchasing Department upon the completion of the PCard application form and departmetal Account Managers (Coder) have completed "PCard Training". We would encourage all departments to attend the training to obtain a PCard if your department does not currently have one. To apply for a PCard please contact Tim Watterson in the Purchasing Department at extension 1738, and he will be happy to direct you to training or to complete the application.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind PCard users that when used in the State of Florida, purchases made on these cards are Florida Sales Tax Exempt. You should have a copy of the University's Sales Tax Exemption Certificate to provide to vendors to avoid the application of sales tax to your purchases. In the very near future the Purchasing Department will be distributing to all card holders a laminated copy of the Exemption Certificate that you may carry in your wallet or purse.

Questions regarding the use of the PCard may be directed to the Tim Watterson in the Purchasing Department at extension 1738. For Sales Tax related issues please contact the Controller's Office at extension 2920.
