Get a Permit Before You Dig

Ever wonder why you don’t see electric and phone lines around campus? Because everything is UNDERGROUND! In fact, many electric and telecommunication lines are buried without a protective pipe or sleeve. That’s why it’s essential to get a Dig Permit before digging any hole on campus, whether it’s for a simple signpost, an experimental soil boring, or even planting a tree. The process is simple, just come in to the Physical Facilities Engineering Section in Bldg. 5 for assistance. For more information on this tip, contact Sue Dulaney at ext 2408 or email s.dulaney@unf.edu.
