With more than 16,000 students taking classes and many scheduled events for the public, things can get pretty busy at UNF, especially on weekdays. Parking regulations are strictly enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, first for safety and efficiency, but also to respect students, faculty and staff who have purchased annual parking permits.

Premium Daily Permit

What are the required times to obtain a Premium Daily Permit?

Enforcement activity is Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No permit is required from 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus. To verify special events, Master Calendar.

If visiting the University Center for a special event or class, no permit is required to park in Lot 16 (located in front of the center).
How much do the permits cost and do they expire?

$3 per permit per car; cash, debit or charge is acceptable. The permits are valid only for the calendar day you purchased it, not for a 24-hour period from the time that it was purchased. A Consecutive Multi-day Permit is no longer available, you must purchase a $3 Premium Daily Permit each day that you park on campus.
Where can the permits be purchased for the core of campus?

There are two parking information booths located at two campus entrances at I-295 and Kernan Boulevard. Each booth is the first building on the right hand side when accessing either campus entrance. They are buildings 52 and 47 on the campus map.
Is there a third campus entrance and do you need a Daily Premium Permit for the lot in front of UNF Hall?

Yes to both. The third campus entrance can be accessed from the Central Parkway off of Beach Boulevard. A parking information booth is not stationed there, however if you choose to park in the immediate lot located by this entrance, there is a parking permit dispenser located at several entrances within the lot. This lot is known as Lot 18 and will accept $3 in cash, debit or charge. Another parking permit dispenser is stationed within Lot 53, located in front of UNF Hall. Once you purchase the permit from either machine, take note that you are only allowed to park in Lot 18 and 53, not the inner core of campus. Please refer to the campus map, for the location of Lot 18 and 53.
How should the permit be displayed?

Make sure the printed side is face up on the dash of your vehicle. Also, make sure the permit is easily visible and not blocked by other expired permits or a sun visor.
Where to park with a Premium Daily Permit?

Visitors with a Premium Daily Permit may park in most of the surface lots and garages. Which include, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor of the parking garages and surface lots indicated with white line spaces. There are two parking garages, Arena Garage (38) located near the Arena and FAC Garage (44) located near the Fine Arts Center. These are located on the campus map.
What parking spaces are off limits with the Premium Daily Permit?

Lot 7, first floor of the garages, Faculty and Staff spaces indicated with orange lines, spaces labeled Restricted or Reserved or spaces within Lots 16 or Housing Lots 10, 11, 12, 15, 17 and 55. For a quick reference click on campus map.
Are temporary motorcycle permits issued?

Yes; a one-day temporary parking permit can be issued to the driver of the two-wheeled motorized vehicle parking in any motorcycle spaces on campus. The temporary parking permit will be marked by Parking Services as being valid for a motorcycle and motorcycle parking spaces only.

The individual of the two-wheeled vehicle is responsible for the display of the temporary parking permit as they deem is appropiate as long as it is completely visible to a person standing next to the vehicle. If the valid UNF parking permit is not displayed, the vehicle will be cited for being in violation. The citation is registed to the license tag owner and they must either pay or appeal the citation.

Attending special events and using a shuttle or a school bus

Where can the shuttle, charter or school bus park after they drop off our group for the special event?

Lot 53, located in front of Hicks Hall on Kernan Boulevard and First Coast Technical. Parkway. Buses will not need to purchase a $3 Premium Daily Permit to park in Lot 53. Any students and chaperons that accompany the shuttle(s) in their own vehicles will need to purchase a $3 Premium Daily Permit to park anywhere on campus, including Lot 53.

Attending special events at the Fine Arts Center

Do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit if I am attending an event at the Fine Arts Center?

Yes, if you are attending an event during the week and park your vehicle before 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday or before 5 p.m. on Friday, you must purchase a Premium Daily Permit. Refer to the above regarding Premium Daily Permit details. If the special event occurs on Saturday or Sunday, check with your event coordinator to see if a parking permit must be obtained.

You will not need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit, if you have received a valid UNF event guest parking pass from the event organizer via mail or hand delivery.
Where should I park or not park?

You may park your vehicle on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th floor of Parking Garage 44, adjacent to the Fine Arts Center. Other options include Lot 1 (surface lot surrounding Parking Garage 44) and Lot 2, except spaces marked in orange and green lines. Spaces marked with orange lines are restricted to Faculty/Staff and spaces marked with green lines are reserved for Vendors. Also, refrain from parking in the loading dock area or the circle leading to the loading dock at the rear of the Fine Arts Center.

Attending special events at the University Center

Do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit if I am attending an event at the University Center?

If you are attending a conference, seminar or social event such as a wedding or reception at the University Center, you are not required to purchase a parking permit if you are parking in Lot 16. This lot is located off Alumni Drive, adjacent to the University Center. Overnight parking is not allowed within this lot.

Attending Multiple-Day Events

Do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit if I am attending a multiple-day event?

Each day that you will be on campus, you must visit Parking Services (Building 52) to purchase a Premium Daily Permit. Multi-day consecutive passes are not available.

You can park on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor of both garages and many surface lots indicated with white lined spaces. You are restricted to park in Lot 7, first floor of both garages, Faculty/Staff spaces with orange lines, Restricted, Reserved, Lot 16 or Housing Lots 10, 11, 12, 15, 17 and 55.

Attending summer camps or sports camps (including parking to drop off or pick up campers)

Do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit if I am attending a camp?

Yes, you must purchase one if you attending Monday - Thursday before 8 p.m. or Friday before 5 p.m. No permit is required on Saturday or Sunday, unless there is a special event taking place on campus. To verify special events, Master Calendar. It will cost $3 and can be obtained at either Parking Information Booths located at the I-295 or Kernan Boulevard. entrance. You can also purchase a restricted Lot 18 $3 daily permit from the Permit Dispensers located within Lot 18 near the Arena and Sports Complex.
What if I am attending a camp that lasts for multiple days?

Each day that you will be on campus, you must visit Parking Services (Building 52) to purchase a Premium Daily Permit. Multi-day consecutive passes are not available.
What if I am dropping off my kid(s) for camp do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit?

If you are just dropping off (up to 30 minutes before the start of the camp) at the designated location or picking up (up to one hour after the camp is finished) at the designated location, you do not have to purchase a daily permit.

Vendors and contractors working at UNF

Do I need to purchase a parking permit if I am working on University property for a length of time?

If you have on-going business with the University, you may purchase a special Vendor Permit ranging from one month up to a year, depending on the nature of your contract. You may purchase the permit at Parking Services, Building 52.
Where should I park or not park?

Vendor Permits allow parking in many surface lots and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor of both garages, plus spaces indicated for vendors in Lots 7, 9, 2, and the Student Union. You are restricted from parking in Faculty/Staff spaces marked with orange lines.
Can construction workers park on campus with their personl vehicles?

Yes, but they must purchase a daily permit from the Parking Permit Dispensers in Lots 18 and 53, and park only in those lots.

Parking for Guests with Disabilities

Do I need to purchase a Premium Daily Permit if I have a disability placard?

You must purchase and display both a valid UNF parking permit (Daily, Consecutive Multi-day or Vendor) for that lot or garage and either a state-issued disability parking placard or a UNF-issued temporary mobility impairment placard in order to park in a disability parking space. This excludes the first floor of both parking garages.

Received a citation

How many days do I have to pay it?

Within 14 calendar days. If you do not pay it within that time period, late fees and other penalties, including vehicle immobilization, may be assessed.
How may I pay for the citation?

You may pay online or at the Parking Services Building 52, with credit or debit cards.
Can my vehicle be booted?

If you get three unpaid citations or eight issued citations within a calendar year, your vehicle may be booted and may be towed -- at your expense. Avoid parking in the following: No Parking zones, service areas, fire lanes, Lot 7, Reserved, Faculty/Staff (indicated by orange stripes), Restricted or Disability spaces. Also, refrain from obstructing traffic and creating a safety hazard with your parked vehicle.
May I appeal my citation?

Yes, by submitting an Appeal Form within 14 calendar days. This may be done online via, Ticket Appeals or you may come to Parking Services, building 52 to fill out the form.
