Pathways to Success: Competitive Financial Need-Based Scholarships for Freshmen

A number of individual donors and companies in the community have generously provided our students with scholarship support through the UNF Foundation.   We seek to assist students in achieving their dreams and earning bachelor degrees while developing leadership and growth through community service, study abroad, Transformational Learning Opportunities (TLO), and undergraduate research.

To be considered for these competitive scholarships, you must:

  • Complete the scholarship application, which is available through myWings.  Click here for a step-by-step tutorial.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which will inform us of your financial need.  (Financial need is determined by a student’s campus cost of attendance minus the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated from the FAFSA, and other aid received.)
  • Provide a résumé
  • Provide two letters of recommendation from non-family members.  One letter should be from a person who can attest to your academic potential at the college level.  The second letter should be from someone who can attest to your civic and/or volunteer activities.

While the scholarship application and the FAFSA will be submitted online, the résumé and letters of recommendation may be submitted as email attachments to pathways@unf.edu or faxed to (904) 620-2109.  Your application will only be considered after these items have been received.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Students need to only submit one scholarship application. Each applicant will be automatically considered for every scholarship for which he/she qualifies.
  • Scholarships are awarded to first-time-in-college students for the Fall and Spring terms.
  • Students receiving an automatic merit-based scholarship (like the UNF Presidential award) may be considered for these scholarships.
  • Current and transfer students are not eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Pathways Priority Deadline for 2013 Freshmen: February 14, 2013

The Pathways to Success Scholarship Application period for the 2013-2014 academic year has closed.  Applications are no longer being accepted.
