UNF Foundation Competitive Merit-Based Scholarships

Incoming students can apply for one of our competitive merit-based scholarships listed below. To be considered for these competitive scholarships, you must:

  1. Provide a résumé
  2. Provide one letter of recommendation (from a teacher, employer, counselor, etc.)
  3. Submit a personal statement – a one-page narrative designed to give the reviewers a picture of you as an individual. The statement should address three items:

What is most appealing to you about UNF?

What details of your life (your history, experiences, etc.) set you apart from other candidates?

How has your work and/or volunteer experience shaped you?

All documents must be submitted as e-mail attachments to pathways@unf.edu. Your application will only be considered after these items have been received.  If you have additional questions about these requirements, please contact Probyn Inniss, assistant director of Foundation scholarships at (904) 620-2116.

For PRIORITY consideration, submit all required scholarship materials by January 1, 2016. After January 1, we will continue to review scholarship documents, only if further scholarships are available.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Scholarships are only available to first-time-in-college or transfer students beginning in the Fall terms.
  • Current students are not eligible to receive these scholarships.
  • Students are only eligible to receive one UNF merit-based scholarship. However, students who have already received an automatic scholarship (like the Presidential Award) can submit documents to be considered for a possible scholarship upgrade.
  • Scholarship offers will be e-mailed to the student’s UNF e-mail account.

The scholarship qualifications listed below reflect anticipated standards and award values for the 2016 incoming class. Minimum qualifications and award amounts are subject to change.
