Because of enrollment limitations, admission to the freshman class is selective. All prospective freshmen must submit an official copy of their high school transcript or GED score and their Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT-I) or American College Test (ACT) score. SAT-I and ACT scores reflected on the high school transcript are considered official. Transcripts and SAT/ACT scores are evaluated by the Office of Admissions and reviewed by the Faculty Admissions Committee.

The Florida Board of Regents has established minimum standards for all freshman applicants. Applicants who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that an offer of admission will be made.
|
- A regionally accredited High School or approved equivalent
- Nineteen academic units in college preparatory courses
- Four in English (at least three with substantial writing requirements)
- Three in mathematics (Algebra I or above)
- Three in natural science (at least two with laboratory)
- Three in social science
- Two in (the same) foreign language
- Four approved electives
- An overall grade point average in academic course work (as computed by UNF) and score on the SAT-I, the ACT or the ACT-Enhanced (taken October 1989 or later) to meet the minimum standards established by the University
|
Regular Admission Consideration Criteria
1050 SAT-I (21 ACT) and 2.5 (recalculated) GPA or 2.9 if applying for Fall |
Meeting minimum admissions consideration criteria does not in any way guarantee admission to the University. Admission is select and competitive based upon available space and the applicant pool.
|
Applicants who do not meet these established academic criteria, but who bring to the University other important attributes, may also be admitted.
