David Jaffee

Dr. David Jaffee, Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Studies
David Jaffee has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has an M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from Washington University-St. Louis and the University of Florida, respectively. Jaffee has published articles and books, and conducted research, on social and economic development, deindustrialization and job loss, gender inequality, organization and management theory, pedagogy and instructional technology, and the social dynamics of freshman learning communities. Prior to coming to UNF he served as academic chairperson of the Department of Sociology, and Director of the SUNY Learning Network, at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Since arriving at UNF in 2000, Jaffee has served as founding Director of the Office of Faculty Enhancement, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Acting Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. In his current position as Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Studies, some of the areas Jaffee will oversee include undergraduate programs and curriculum, academic advising, the Honors Program, General Education, the Office of Faculty Enhancement, the Undergraduate Academic Enrichment Program, and the Testing Center.

Martina Perry

Ms. Martina Perry, Coordinator for Undergraduate Initiatives
Martina Perry obtained a M.S. in Higher Education, and a B.A. in Communication from Florida State University. At Florida State Martina served as a Graduate Assistant with the Center for Civic Education and Service where she worked with the Service Learning Program. She also completed graduate internships with the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Office of National Fellowships. Additionally, Martina has received a Certificate in College Teaching from FSU and has served as an instructor for the FSU Career Center 's Career Development course and as a lab instructor for the College of Communication 's Public Speaking course. As the Coordinator for Undergraduate Initiatives, Martina will assist in the implementation of the Transformational Learning Opportunities Initiative, the American Democracy Project, the New York Times Readership Program, and the future Center for Community-based Learning.

 

Melody

Mrs. Melody Taylor, Executive Secretary
Melody Taylor joined the Office of Undergraduate Studies in January, 2008. Prior to her current position, she worked in UNF’s financial aid processing office for five years as a program assistant, and then as a post-closer in the title insurance industry for two years. A Jacksonville native, she plans to continue pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations while working at UNF, and is interested in becoming a nurse sometime in the future.
