Police responding to incdent on campus

Communication

Currently, emergency information can be broadcast by the building fire alarm systems, e-mails, voice mails, UNF homepage (www.UNF.edu), UNF myWings Portal (mywings.unf.edu ) and UNF Blackboard portal (blackboard.unf.edu).

  • In some emergencies, the University will communicate important information to students, faculty and staff via the Code Red Campus Alert System. Students, faculty and staff who have registered their personal phone numbers will receive an automated phone call and text message to the number they have specified. The call and text will come in from the phone number (999) 911-9999. In certain emergencies, the Crisis Management Team may also send a message to UNF office phones.

  • In the event of an emergency, information is also updated on UNF’s main phone number, (904) 620-1000, so callers can listen to a recorded message of the latest information.

  • In some emergencies, the Crisis Management Team may send e-mails to students, faculty, and staff.

  • The building fire alarm system has the ability to broadcast a warning.

  • Students, faculty, staff, and visitors may use the Emergency Code Blue telephones placed throughout the campus to request assistance or report an emergency.

  • UNF may also activate an outdoor mass notification system to get the word out about an emergency.
