  • Osprey Landing, housing 150 students, opens in the Fall.

  • More than 10,000 students enroll during Fall registration.

  • President Adam Herbert takes on the challenge of being the chancellor of the State University System.
  • Chancellor Adam Herbert recommended the Board of Regents Selection Committee reopen the nationwide search for a new president of the University of North Florida.
  • Dr. E. K. Fretwell becomes the interim president of UNF.
  • December 1998 - Dr. Anne Hopkins was named the fourth president of UNF.
