Few 35-year-old women are a chief operating officer of a public accounting
firm with more than 40 employees. Anna L. Brosche can make that claim in part
because of the critical thinking skills she learned at UNF.
Brosche is one of four partners in the CPA firm of Ennis, Pellum &
Associates of Jacksonville, where she has worked since 2002. Her rapid ascent up
the career ladder started shortly after she graduated from UNF with a master’s
in accountancy in 1995. Armed with that degree and an earlier bachelor’s degree
in accounting from UNF, Brosche says she felt well prepared for the real world.
She specifically recalls the classes and independent study work with Dr. Jeffrey
“I really did enjoy my experience at UNF. It was a well-rounded education
that offered many opportunities to become involved in team projects to really
help me develop critical thinking skills and on-your-feet analysis.”
Brosche obtained a position in the Jacksonville office of Ernst & Young,
where she served in the audit practice for three years. She then worked for a
law firm for four years as the director of finance before joining Ennis, Pellum
& Associates. She was named a partner in 2004 and assumed responsibility for
the firm’s audit practice. She became chief operating officer of the firm in
2007, an accomplishment of which she is the proudest.
Her successful career hasn’t stopped Brosche from keeping in contact with
UNF. She is president of the Coggin College Alumni Chapter. Despite a busy
career and community schedule, Brosche prides herself on spending quality time
with her husband, David, and their three children.
Brosche is quick to praise UNF for its role in her career. “I love my job and
I love what I do. UNF really did prepare me.”
