Great week for discussing ethics in
Jacksonville! Thursday, February 27, 2014, is the National Ethics Bowl Competition (UNF is one of
the 32 teams in the nation to qualify), and Friday, February 28, 2014, is the start of the APPE
(Association of Practical and Professional Ethics) Annual Conference.

Dr. Benjamin Lukey, from the University of Hawaii Uehiro
Academy for Philosophy and Ethics in Education, will be here and give a
workshop for Philosophy M.A. students on the Philosophy with Children program.
Our department is considering some outreach with local schools in this
direction, and we'd like to gauge your interest. If you are available and have
an interest in the connections between practical philosophy and education,
please join us! The workshop will be from 4:15 to 5:45 on Friday, February 28th,

The Florida Student Philosophy Blog managed by Dr. Jonathan Matheson with the help of the UNF Philosophy Student Club is progressing well. The UNF Philosophy Club itself is taking the necessary steps towards establishing itself as an important source both of students’ community life and of their professional development.
