In 2006, the Rev. Robert Gray, builder of Jacksonville’s “first megachurch,” was arrested on charges of sexual molestation of children. Jed Rasula, the author of the highly-acclaimed new hisotory of Dada, Destruction Was My Beatrice: Dada and the Unmaking of the Twentieth Century and the Helen S. Lanier Distinguished Professor at the University of Georgia, will be giving an evening lecture titled “Dada and the Art of the Hoax," followed by a q&a and book signing. This event is held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the Dada movement's founding.

Dr. Nicholas de Villiers will host a screening of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, which will be followed by a reading from author Gabriel Blackwell. Blackwell will be reading from his latest book, Madeleine E., which is part memoir, part fiction, and part film criticism and was inspired by Hitchcock's film. A Q&A and book-signing will follow. Blackwell is a visiting professor at the University of West Florida and editor of The Collagist. In conjunction with Dada @ 100, classic dadaist films by Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Hans Richter, and other Dada artists will be shown.

In conjunction with Dada @ 100, sound artist Erick DeLuca's sound installations "Walkie Talkie" and "A Heap of Sound" will open on 11/15 at the UNF Gallery of Art.
Dutch sound artist Jaap Blonk, currently on a world tour commemorating Dada's 100th anniversary, will bring his dada performance to Jacksonville, performing at Sun-Ray Cinema.
