UNF Voice Student Alumni Releases CD
Kristi Stice is a professional musician, composer, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist with a diverse variety of influences including Leonard Cohen, Jolie Holland, Billie Holiday, and a slight passion for Parisian cafe songs. After completing extensive studies in classical and jazz music, she received a degree in jazz vocals in 2007 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and returned to her home state of Colorado in 2010.
UNF Music Faculty Members Win "Faculty Empowerment Awards" Awards
Congratulations Dr. Cara Tasher (Director of Choral Activities) and Dr. Nick Curry (Professor of Cello) who were honored Friday by the Disability Resource Center and received Faculty Empowerment Awards.
UNF Opera Ensemble Opens to Rave Reviews
The University of North Florida Music Flagship Program presented the comic opera “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini in the Robinson Theater for four performances. It was well attended by appreciative audiences who delighted in the fast-paced humorous opera that is considered one of Puccini’s most popular. Composed in 1917-18, it has been widely recorded and has been a very popular choice for university opera projects.
UNF Awesome Osprey Band Performs at Davis Cup
The UNF Awesome Osprey Band, directed by Dr. Marc Dickman, was featured as the house band for the Davis Cup Tennis competition held in Jacksonville at the Veteran's Memorial Arena on February 1 and 3. Thousands of spectators and a large international television audience heard the Osprey Band perform upbeat renditions of classic rock tunes and current hits. Assistant directors are Stefanie Batson and Richard Sargent.

Dr. Cara Tasher, associate professor of voice and director of choral activities in the Music Flagship Program, discusses the UNF Chamber Singers' Transformational Learning Opportunity overseas for a musical tour in South Africa.
UNF Cello Professor Performs with Bernadette Peters
Dr. Nick Curry, Assistant Professor of Cello, was the cello soloist with actress/singer Bernadette Peters in her February concert at the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall in Tallahassee.
