The MBA program is 36 semester hours (9 core courses plus 3 electives). While the MBA is designed as a generalist degree, concentrations allow MBA students to design an individualized degree curriculum that allows for specialization in a functional specialty. These concentrations thus provide the student with a unique opportunity to focus their skill-set and add extra credentials to their resume.
Concentrations require the student to successfully complete electives that have been approved for their chosen concentration. The 9 hours for the concentration excludes hours taken as part of the core MBA curriculum. In order to count an elective course toward a concentration, students must successfully complete the course by earning a B (3.0) or better.
