Arriving in Jacksonville

bahamas

It is very important that students find a flight that flies into the Jacksonville airport (JAX); if you fly into a different airport in Florida, transportation will be very expensive and difficult to acquire. Students should expect to arrive a few days before classes start at UNF and before the REQUIRED international student orientation on Saturday, August 19. Students should arrive on Friday, August 18 for the fall 2017 semester. From JAX airport, students have about a 30 minute car ride to UNF's campus. We greatly recommend that students download the smart phone apps Lyft and Uber before their arrival, and use the app to get a ride from the airport. This is a less expensive option than traditional taxis, and typically costs about $30 from the airport. You should give your driver the following address: The Fountains, Osprey Ridge Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Our residence halls have 24/6 security, so despite students' arrival times, they will be able to get into their rooms. Please note that if you arrive early, certain amenities may not be available such as: the campus transportation shuttle, dining on campus, and more; you will also be charged $30 extra per night before August 18 by our Housing department for early arrival. We really suggest arriving to UNF on the 18th of August.

If it is unclear when you should arrive or you have any questions about your arrival plans, please e-mail Erika Gallion. Also, if you are planning on arriving to UNF at any other day than the 18th, you must let Erika know so that your room key will be ready for you at the time of your arrival.
