Summary:This 7-credit program allows students to study emerging markets in China. "Coggin In China" is a 4-week program at Beijing International Studies University in Beijing, China. Classes meet four days per week, which allows students 3-day weekends for travel and to get to know Beijing and China. All classes are taught in English. Classes will be held four or five days a week. The class schedule during the four weeks may vary, possibly including a long weekend. Included in the program cost are visits to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square.

Dr. Lian An, who is originally from China, is a professor from the Coggin College of Business and will be the UNF faculty liaison for Coggin in China. Dr. An will meet with students several times prior to departure to review etiquette, culture, and travel preparation. In May, Dr. An will also fly with the students to China and assist them with exploring Beijing for their first few days. Additionally, Dr. An will be in Beijing during the entire four weeks as she will be teaching on the the courses in the "Coggin In China" program at Beijing International Studies University.

  • ECO 2023: Principles of Microeconomics OR
  • ECO 3701: Contemporary International Economic Issues

  • Economics of China: 3/4000 ECO elective - may be used in student's degree evaluation as ECO 3704: International Trade
  • Doing Business in China: 3/4000 GEB elective

$3,200 (plus the cost of 7 hours UNF tuition)

 

Note: Program fee includes the cost to obtain a visa

1st Payment: $500 due by November 1, 2012
2nd Payment: $2,700 due by February 1, 2013

After turning in a complete application, students will be contacted by a study abroad representative to set up an interview time. Charges will not be posted to student accounts unless students are officially accepted by the Coggin in China interview committee.
