| Summary: |
This course introduces students to the economy and society of Brazil. Brazil is a leading trade partner of the state of Florida, and familiarity with its businesses could be quite useful to business and economics students and their employers. Moreover, this study abroad course includes a visit to Gama Filho University (GFU), a prestigious private institution in Rio de Janeiro. Participants will be able to interact with Brazilian students and faculty on campus, and attend lectures addressing current economic and social issues in Brazil.
Many historical and cultural landmarks will also be visited. Students will prepare for the trip by conducting research on key aspects of the country's history, culture, business practices and economy; and presenting a research report in class during the spring 2012 semester. |
