Other Recruiting/Branding Strategies
Developing
and maintaining a presence in the Coggin College of Business is one of the keys
to successful recruiting, now and in the future. The following are some ways that you can
connect with students and develop or grow your company’s brand
recognition. Please contact our office
at: coggin.careers@unf.edu or (904) 620-2067 to
learn more about the following opportunities.
RECRUITING AND NETWORKING EVENTS
Two student job fairs (fall and spring ) and one alumni job fair
(spring) are held each year. Hundreds of
students and alumni of all majors attend these events and thus, participating
in them is an ideal way to meet a large number of potential candidates in a
short period of time. Additionally, our
office hosts an internship/part-time job fair each fall as well as a number of
special events throughout the year. Please
check our calendar of events for additional information about these events
including current dates and times.
HOSTING INFORMATION SESSIONS
Hosting an information session or hiring social is an excellent
way to meet and share information about your company with potential
employees. Holding the session prior to
an on campus interviewing day or just after a career fair are two ways to help
maximize attendance at the event. If you
would like to host an event, please contact our office or submit a request in Career Wings (select
the “Career Events” tab) and we would be happy to assist you in coordinating
the event. When possible, please give us
three weeks notice for scheduling purposes.
GET INVOLVED IN THE STAR PROGRAM
The STAR Program is a professional development program designed
specifically for Coggin College of Business students. The program’s focus is on helping students
advance their careers through the development of employability and networking
skills. Getting involved in the STAR Program is one of the best ways to develop
your company’s presence on campus and get to know some of the top Coggin
College of Business students.
- Workshops-
Company representatives can volunteer to teach one of the STAR
workshops or a supplemental workshop on a subject that will contribute to
students’ professional development.
Topics that would be welcome include networking, professional etiquette,
or successfully transitioning into the workplace.
- InterviewPRO-
Conducting mock interviews is a great way to get to know students
on an individual basis. Students truly
value and apply what they learn and it is not uncommon for a company to hire a
student that they met during a mock interview.
- Mentor Program- The
mentor program matches driven STAR certified students with local business
professionals. The ideal mentor is a
positive role-model who enjoys working with students to foster their
professional development. The program requires a 3 hour per month commitment
over a period of 8 months.
- Sponsorship-Contact
the Career Management Center to discuss current sponsorship opportunities.
