Coach Carlos Mejia is member of US Masters Swimming, ASCA level I & II. Coach Mejia has a long history of swimming starting from high school. Carlos was chosen twice to be a part of the national swim team for his native country of Ecuador. During his tenure, Carlos won three gold medals in a South American meet in 1997. He started his coaching career here in the US at the YMCA, Jacksonville, Florida in 2007, producing several Junior Olympic qualifiers.

 

In 2009, Carlos became head coach of the Providence School’s swimming & diving team. Carlos has developed his team over a short period of time into competitive power house generating several high school regional and state champions. He is now the Head Coach of the Masters Swimming Program at the UNF Aquatic Center. He offers a variety of workouts that focus on: speed, technique, endurance, and performance.
