Dr. John Beaver, an aquatic ecologist specializing in North American lake water quality, will discuss “Phosphorus—The Natural Resource Shortage You Never Heard About” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 29, at UNF’s new Biological Sciences Building, Building 59, Room 1701. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Beaver is president and principal scientist of BSA Environmental Services, Inc. and has authored more than 40 scientific articles related to aquatic microbiology and limnology. He has over 25 years’ experience in environmental science, providing expert guidance to industry on issues pertaining to pollution prevention strategy, biomonitoring and compliance with environmental regulations.
He is a member of several professional associations, including the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, American Water Works Association, Florida Lake Management Society, International Society of Limnology and the North American Lake Management Society.
