UNF Swim and Dive Team Earns Scholar All American Honors
Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations
In addition to excelling in the swimming pool this season, the University of North Florida women’s swimming and diving team stood out in the classroom.
The Ospreys posted a 3.15 team GPA in the spring and were named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America team. UNF was one of 128 teams to earn the distinction.
“I am really proud of our girls and the grades they got during the spring semester,” head coach Beth Harrell said. “Our sport can be tough because we swim in both the fall and spring semesters. There are a lot of morning workouts and afternoon workouts and that adds up. We have some kids in some pretty tough majors. I am proud of all the student-athletes and the efforts they put in to get the grades that they get. They did a good job.”
Of the Ospreys’ 28-woman roster, twenty (20) student-athletes boasted a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
