Field.
With this promotion, VanAlsytne will have a broader
range of duties including the marketing of Hodges Stadium as a space for hosting
major events. He will be responsible for the bidding and administration of these
events as well as all facility related duties pertaining to the maintenance and
enhancements of the venue. In addition, VanAlstyne assumes various
administrative tasks as a member of the senior athletic
staff.
“Mark is a tremendously hard worker,” Moon said. “He has
a genuine commitment and dedication to making UNF better and I appreciate that
about him. This is a great opportunity for him to use his skills and connections
to bring even more positive exposure to our outstanding facility. I also believe
this promotion keeps us in line with most of the top track and field programs in
the country.”
VanAlstyne, a former student-athlete at UNF, has led the
track and field programs since January 1991. He has mentored the Ospreys from
the NAIA level through Division II into the program’s current status at the

“I am excited about this new position, and the
opportunities it will bring to develop our program and enhance the visibility of
UNF,” said VanAlstyne. “I’m also very humbled that Coach Moon has confidence in
my ability to contribute in other ways within the athletic department as we face
and overcome the many challenges along our development into a championship
Division I program.”
