UNF English Department and Atlantic Beach Present Shakespeare in the Park

The University of North Florida
Department of English, in conjunction with the City of Atlantic Beach, will
present “Shakespeare in the Park,” an outdoor production of “The Taming of the
Shrew,” Shakespeare’s enduring comedy
about the battle of the sexes. Directed by Dr. Pam Monteleone, a UNF English
professor, the productionfeatures
UNF students and members of the Jacksonville
community.
The production opens at UNF on
Friday, April 9, and runs for two consecutive weekends. Indoor performances are
in the Andrew Robinson Theater
on April 9, Wednesday, April 14, and Thursday, April 15, with limited seating.
Outdoor performances at UNF will be on the University Green on Saturday, April
10, and Sunday, April 11, weather permitting. All performances are at 8 p.m.
General Admission for UNF performances
is $10 and $5 for seniors and students with a valid ID. To purchase tickets,
call the UNF Ticket Box Office at (904) 620-2878. Tickets may also be purchased

Atlantic
Beach performances will be at Russell Park
(located at 800 Seminole Road)
on Friday, April 16, and Saturday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. with live music
beginning at 7 p.m. Atlantic Beach performances are free and open to the
public. Patrons should bring chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner, if they
choose. In case of rain, the Atlantic Beach performances will be relocated to the Robinson Theater at UNF. For information about Atlantic Beach performances, contact Linda
