UNF Celebrates Nest Fest 2010 Homecoming

The University of North Florida will celebrate its annual homecoming Friday, Feb. 19, through Saturday, Feb. 27. Come out for Nest Fest 2010 and enjoy a variety of lively and fun events with fellow Ospreys, family and friends. This year’s schedule features a variety of exciting activities designed to appeal to alumni and students of all ages!

Homecoming Men’s Baseball Games

Friday, Feb. 19: Ohio State; 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 20: Richmond, 1 p.m.;

Sunday, Feb. 21: Florida A&M, 3 p.m.

Harmon Stadium

Adults $10; seniors (55+) and youth (13 to 17) $5; children under 12, free

Compassion 2010

Saturday, Feb. 20

Free

Relient K, a mainstream alternative band, will be performing in concert. This is also an opportunity for students to become aware and to show compassion to those who are hurting locally and globally. Goods will be collected to provide relief in Haiti.

Powder-puff Football

Sunday, Feb. 21

The powder puff football game will consist of teams from around campus, who will compete for points towards winning the Nest Fest 2010 Spirit Cup.

Mr. & Mrs. UNF Pageant

Monday, Feb. 22

6 p.m.

UNF Fine Arts Center Lazzara Performance Hall

Free

The Mr. and Ms. UNF Pageant will feature contestants from various campus organizations. The winners will represent UNF at various events throughout the year. Local artist Shawn Fisher will be performing a small concert during intermission.

Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe Exhibit and Reception

The UNF Alumni Association invites alumni and a guest to enjoy the “ Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe exhibit , featuring UNF art professor Dr. Debra Murphy. This is an international touring exhibition that celebrates the many sides of the 1950s glamour goddess. Enjoy a private reception with Murphy prior to her lecture as well as a private tour of this exhibition afterwards.

Alumni Recognition Dinner

The 15th annual Alumni Recognition Dinner is the Alumni Association’s signature event. Each year, a distinguished group of UNF supporters are honored for their outstanding personal and professional achievements.
