University of North Florida swimming and diving head coach Beth Harrell officially announced today the 2009-10 schedule. The schedule is highlighted by six home meets.

“We are excited about our 2009-10 season starting and the challenges our schedule brings to us as a team,” Coach Harrell remarked. “We will swim some strong teams early this season which should bring fast swims before the Christmas break. The CCSA conference teams are evenly matched this year. We are eager to let the racing begin. The meets will be exciting!”
The Ospreys open up the season on Saturday, Oct. 10, with a meet at Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla. UNF and the Rattlers are set to start at Noon at the Morcom Aquatics Center at Florida State.
A week later on Saturday, Oct. 17, the Ospreys host its annual Alumni Meet at the UNF Aquatic Center. The meet is slated for 1:45 p.m. and will feature the current UNF team against the Osprey alumni.
On Oct. 24, the Ospreys travel to Charleston, S.C. for a meet against the College of Charleston and Georgia Southern. The tri-meet is slated for 2 p.m.
UNF follows the meet at the College of Charleston with four meets in a row at home. The Ospreys start off the four-meet homestand with a Noon meet against Campbell on Saturday, Nov. 7. On Wednesday, Nov. 11, North Florida hosts in-state rival Florida Gulf Coast in a meet slated for 2 p.m.
After a break for the holidays, the Ospreys begin the New Year with a meet on Saturday, Jan. 2, that features UNC Wilmington. The meet will kickoff at 11 a.m. at the UNF Aquatic Center. Following the UNC Wilmington dual, the Ospreys welcome Radford to the Aquatic Center for a meet on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 5 p.m.
The Ospreys hit the road for a pair of meets in January. UNF heads to Statesboro, Ga. for a meet at Georgia Southern. The meet features Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast, Gardner-Webb and UNF and is set for Jan. 15-16. North Florida then heads to Daytona Beach on Saturday, Jan. 30, for a meet against host Daytona Beach State College and Florida Atlantic.
On Friday, Feb. 5, North Florida hosts North Carolina A&T in the final home meet of the year. The meet will also be the final tune up for the team before the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Conference Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., on Feb. 18-20.
Following the conference meet, the Ospreys will take part in the NCAA Diving Zones (March 12-14) and the NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships (March 19-21).
