     UNF TV: Campus Connection

The University of North Florida produces a half hour, monthly public affairs talk show called “UNF: Campus Connection.” This show features students, faculty, programs and services from UNF. This show airs in Jacksonville on CW-17 and Comcast. It also airs on public access channels in Boca Raton, Tampa, Brevard County, Central Florida, Palm Beach County, Polk County, St. Johns County, Sarasota County and throughout the Florida panhandle. In addition, the show airs across the country on the DISH Network.

Forensic Investigation common boundry course

Dr. Aaron Sheehan-Dean and his student Bill Healy discuss the concept of Common Boundary courses. During this segment, video of the Common Boundaries course “Forensic Investigation” is shown. Then Dr. Candice Carter and her former student Rachael Dandridge give their global perspective on education and peace.

During the segment, video of students involved with Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital is shown. Then Dr. David Courtwright, a UNF history professor, discusses his new book on the history of aviation and compares it to the movie “The Aviator.”

Marcia Ladendorff, Assistant Director of the UNF Honors Program and UNF student Amber Fricke discuss their trip to Ghana, West Africa. The Ghana Project is a unique approach to international study using service learning as a way to help students immerse themselves in culture. Then, Dr. Marsha Lupi, Associate Dean in the UNF College of Education and Human Services and Lydia Lucas,UNF Graduate Student from Belize, discuss the partnership the University of North Florida has with this South American country.

Dr. Stephan Nix, Director of the UNF Division of Engineering, and electrical engineering student Karen Armstrong-Thomas discuss the hands-on experience UNF students get, and the future for students who graduate in engineering. This segment also features video from a Botball competition. The second half of the show features interviews with Dr. Paul Harwood, professor of political science and Chris Cox, a political science student. The two discuss their research into ways terrorists communicate.
