     UNF TV: Campus Connection

The University of North Florida produces a half hour, monthly public affairs talk show called “UNF: Campus Connection.” This show features students, faculty, programs and services from UNF. This show airs in Jacksonville on CW-17 and Comcast. It also airs on public access channels in Boca Raton, Tampa, Brevard County, Central Florida, Palm Beach County, Polk County, St. Johns County, Sarasota County and throughout the Florida panhandle. In addition, the show airs across the country on the DISH Network.

Coastal Biololgy becomes new flagship program

Dr. Joe Butler, Biology Department chair, and Iara Gonzalez, a biology graduate student discuss the new Coastal Biology program. Athletics Director Dr. Richard Gropper and Golden Creavy, a junior cross country/track athlete, also talk about a the Hodges donation and how it will boost educational and athletic opportunities at the newly-named Hodges Stadium.
'Green' building a growing trend

Dr. John Martin, chair of the Building Construction Management Department, and Leah Trainer, a junior majoring in Building Construction Management discuss the construction industry and the trend of "green" environmental-friendly building. The show also features Dr. John McDonough, director of the School of Nursing's new anesthesiology nursing program, and Daniel McEwen, a registered nurse and a student in this program.
Preparing for a global workforce

Dr. John McAllister, dean of the UNF Coggin College of Business and an International Business student Coral Rodriguez discuss how the workforce is becoming more global and how to prepare the future employees for these changes. The show also features interviews with Dr. Michael Hallett, chair of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and his student, Ana Novoa, who has a promising future in law enforcement.

This show features UNF English Professor Dr. Mary Baron and her student Karen Mills discussing a program to bring poetry to juvenile inmates. The second part of the show features Dr. Rusty Smith of UNF’s Athletic Training and Physical Therapy Department and his student Lacey Harber discussing the growing field of Physical Therapy and a generous donation from Brooks Rehabilitation.

UNF Logistics Professor Dr. Yem Bolumole and student Stacie Richardson discuss the growing field of logistics, career opportunities and hands-on training. The second part of the show features Bob Jacob, Director of the Institute of Police Technology and Management at UNF. This center trains police officers from around the world on the latest crime-solving techniques.
Journaling helps nurses entering workplace

This show features UNF Nursing Instructor Bill Ahrens and Stacy Widrich, a nursing student. The two discuss how "journaling" is helping aspiring nurses enter the workforce successfully. The second part of the show features UNF Athletics Director Dr. Richard Gropper. Dr. Gropper discusses issues facing student athletes.
UNF authors discuss new books

This show features three authors from the University of North Florida. In the first segment, we talk with UNF Statistics Professor Dr. Peter Wludyka, author of “The Myth of Death,” a futuristic novel about cloning. The second author highlighted is Thelma Young, a UNF student and employee who wrote “The Stories My Foremothers Told Me, ” chronicling the experiences of five Black-Creole Catholic women living in Mississippi and Louisiana. The final author, UNF Business Professor Dr. Tom Barton, writes about the risk management involved in Hollywood in his latest book “Tell Me How You Love the Picture.”
