     UNF TV: Campus Connection

The University of North Florida produces a half hour, monthly public affairs talk show called “UNF: Campus Connection.” This show features students, faculty, programs and services from UNF. This show airs in Jacksonville on CW-17 and Comcast. It also airs on public access channels in Boca Raton, Tampa, Brevard County, Central Florida, Palm Beach County, Polk County, St. Johns County, Sarasota County and throughout the Florida panhandle. In addition, the show airs across the country on the DISH Network.

This show features Dr. Mag Malek, chair of UNF's Construction Management Department and UNF junior Josh Cox. They discuss the budding field of Construction Management. The show also features UNF School of Nursing Director Dr. Li Loriz and senior Jessica Hefferin, a UNF nursing major. The two discuss the trend of sending nurses out into the community. In our final segment, Dr. Andres Gallo, UNF economics professor, and senior Christine Conley, a UNF International Business major, discuss a humanitarian learning trip to Guatemala.

It also features a discussion on Transportation and Logistics with Dr. Yemisi Bolumole and her student Lauren DelBovo. The final segment of the show includes an interview with Sociologist Dr. Jeff Will and his student, James Taylor, discussing a community-based transformational learning opportunity involving the homeless.

Dr. Rusty Smith, chair of the Department of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy, and Rebekah Davis, a student in the doctorate of Physical Therapy program at UNF, discuss the growing fields of physical therapy, athletic training and exercise science. Then, UNF paleontologist Dr. Barry Albright talks about his research of the plesiosaur, which swam the seas 93 million years ago. In the final segment, Dr. Michael Francis, UNF history professor, and one of his graduate students Kathleen Kole discuss how their research uncovered a 16th-century murder mystery.
