Four New Administrators Hired at UNF

The University of North Florida announced today the hiring of four new administrators. Dr. Robert Smallwood is the new associate provost for Undergraduate Education and Assessment, Dr. John McAllister is the new dean of the Coggin College of Business, Dr. Marsha Lupi is the associate dean for the College of Education and Human Services and Dr. John Martin is the new chair of the Department of Building Construction Management.

Smallwood was formerly the director of Academic Assessment at Texas State University – San Marcos, where he was responsible for developing and monitoring the assessment of student learning outcomes and other measures of institutional effectiveness. He has a doctorate of philosophy in psychology from Texas Christian University. Smallwood began his new position in Academic Affairs at UNF this month.

McAllister is currently both the chair and a professor of accounting at the College of Business at Kennesaw State University. He received his doctorate in philosophy from Pennsylvania State University. McAllister starts his new position in July with the Coggin College of Business, which is dedicated to the education and development of individuals who will become leaders of both private and public organizations.

Lupi comes to UNF from Hunter College, City University of New York. A member of the Hunter faculty for over 20 years, she has served as assistant dean of the college and as chair of the Department of Special Education. She received her Ed.D. in teacher education and special education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Lupi, who begins her new position in August, will oversee curriculum proposals, program reviews and evaluation, accreditation and assessment.

With nearly 25 years of experience building custom homes, Martin is the former chair of the Department of Construction Management at Boise State University. He received his Ed.D. in human resource management from Oklahoma State University. Martin starts his new job in the UNF College of Computing, Engineering and Construction in July, overseeing the Building Construction Management academic program, which prepares students for a professional career in the construction industry.

“These four individuals bring a wealth of experience in their respective fields to the University of North Florida,” said President John A. Delaney. “We’re pleased to have professionals of this caliber join us.”
