The Art & Design Department at the University of North Florida will host Art Fest ’09 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Art Quad, located behind the Fine Arts Center, Building 45, on the UNF campus.
The arts fundraising event is open to the public and will celebrate the Art & Design Department at UNF, with all proceeds to benefit the Osprey Design Club, Potters Guild, Printers Guild, Sculpture Guild and Photo Club.
UNF faculty and student artwork will be featured in an exhibition as well as a silent auction. There will be food, live music, a raffle, a sidewalk chalk competition, interactive games and art workshops.
The Art & Design Department offers six major tracks, including Art History, Ceramics/Sculpture, Graphic Design, Multi-media, Painting/Drawing and Photography. It also oversees the University Gallery in the heart of campus, where five exhibitions of regional, faculty and student work are highlighted. In addition, the department is organizing study abroad programs to Rome and Brazil in the summer of 2009.
