UNF Hosts Auditions for 'Dead Man Walking' Production

The University of North Florida Department Of English will hold auditions for its April production of Tim Robbins’ “Dead Man Walking,” a play based on Sister Helen Prejean’s book “Dead Man Walking” and the 1997 Hollywood film starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.
Roles are available for 15 to 20 males and females of all races, ranging in age from 25 to 60 years old. Two males and two females, ages 50 to 60, and two African-American males, ages 12 to 14, are needed. Some singing roles are available.
Auditions will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Andrew Robinson Jr. Student Life Center (Building 14, Room 1605-06); Saturday, Jan. 19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Life Center (Building 14, Room 1605-06); and Monday, Jan. 21, in the Robinson Theater on campus from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A short, one- to two-minute prepared monologue is suggested but not required.
Music auditions will also be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Life Center (Building 14, Room 1605-06).
