UNF Celebrates Annual Homecoming

The University of North Florida will celebrate its annual homecoming Friday, Feb. 2, through Saturday, Feb. 10. Numerous events will be held, including old favorites like a comedy show, featuring comedians Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood from the Emmy nominated show “Who’s Line is it Anyway,” basketball games, a homecoming pageant, a Day of Fun on the Green and a campus pep rally.

Friday, Feb. 2
Powder Puff Tournament
Intramural Field
5 p.m.
Free admission
Come watch some of the women from UNF get down and dirty in a flag football tournament.

Saturday, Feb. 3
Homecoming Comedy Show, sponsored by Osprey Productions
UNF Arena
8 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m.
Admission: students, free; $5, alumni; $10, general public
Tickets can be purchased at the UNF Ticket Box Office at (904) 620-2878.

Sunday, Feb. 4

Monday, Feb. 5
Homecoming Pageant

Contestants will compete in this event in a variety of categories, ranging from talent to evening wear.

Tuesday, Feb. 6
Day of Fun on the Green
The Green
Noon to 4 p.m.
Free admission
Join us on The Green as we have a day of fun. Students and alumni can build an osprey or bear plus make a postcard. There will be an obstacle course and other surprises.

Wednesday, Feb. 7
Emeriti Luncheon
University Center
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Free admission
This annual event is hosted especially for UNF alumni who are in their retirement years, enjoying lunch, guest speakers and entertainment.

The great pretenders of UNF come out to take part in a competition of showmanship. Dustin Diamond from “Saved by the Bell” will host this year’s event.

Thursday, Feb. 8
Campus Pep Rally
The Green
2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Free admission
UNF pep rally with cheerleaders, dance team and other entertainment. Students will be participating in a “yell like hell” competition.

Men's Basketball vs. Kennesaw State

Alumni Recognition Dinner

Each year, a distinguished group of UNF alumni are recognized for their outstanding personal and professional achievements.

Career Connections Panel Discussion

It’s Electric! 80s Theme Party and Casino Game Night

$20 for alumni, free admission for students starting at 9 p.m.
It’s RAD! Live music by the hot local band, 80Z Enuff. Guests are welcome to also try their hand at Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Slots and Black Jack. 80s dress is optional! The King and Queen winners for 2007 will be crowned.

Saturday, Feb. 10
Homecoming Basketball Game

Free admission for students; $5, alumni
Come out and show your support for Osprey basketball. Winners of the homecoming spirit cup competition will be announced after the men’s basketball game.
