UNF Environmental Center Hosts Regional Water Conference

The Environmental Center at the University of North Florida and District IV of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. are sponsoring a one-day regional water conference, Water Matters???, on Friday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Brooks College of Health Building 39, First Floor, Room 1009 A&B) on the UNF campus.

The conference will focus on preserving and protecting Florida’s water resources and encouraging individual responsibility. Several noted environmental experts from UNF, University of Florida, St. Johns Water Management District and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs will be among the featured speakers.

The Environmental Center at UNF was established in 2004 and responds to the pressing need for multidisciplinary environmental research, helps design thoughtful planning processes, encourages responsible stewardship, and helps prepare the next generation of environmentally literate society leaders through education.
Founded in 1925, the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs has 16,000 members and is comprised of 12 districts from around the state. The nonprofit group is dedicated to advancing the art of floral design, gardening, horticulture, landscaping, education and conservation.
