The University of North Florida Legal Studies Institute introduces the FutureNOW! Legal Camp for the first time this summer. FutureNOW! is a three-day clinic for high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 who are interested in entering the legal field.

“FutureNOW! is an excellent opportunity for high schoolers to explore the legal field,” said Arianne de Jonge, FutureNOW! coordinator. “Camp activities are designed to give students a realistic view of a career in the legal environment, interaction with top area professionals and confidence to achieve their professional goals.”

The day camp will be held Wednesday, July 19, through Friday, July 21, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at a cost of $245. The camp will consist of interactive informational sessions, covering topics from preparation for college and law school to the different types of law, as well as a question-and-answer session with a panel of lawyers, paralegals and judges. There will also be field trips to the county courthouse, Jacksonville Legal Aid and law firms. Camp sessions will be conducted by local attorneys.

Established in 1999, The Legal Studies Institute at UNF offers programs in paralegal certification, legal secretary certification, dual certification and a paralegal/certified legal assistant preparation program.
