Memorial for Dr. William Brown Is Nov. 16

JACKSONVILLE -- A public memorial service for University of North Florida professor William Brown will be Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. in the Lazzara Performance Hall in the Fine Arts Center on campus.
Dr. Brown died unexpectedly Oct. 20 at age 66.
A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Dr. Brown taught at UNF for more than 30 years and was a Distinguished Professor of Voice with the Music Department. He began teaching at UNF when the University opened in 1972.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities at UNF, Dr. Brown also traveled throughout the United States and much of the world as a performing artist. A tenor, he sang with leading orchestras throughout the world, including the Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic, Capetown South African Symphony, Czech National Symphony, Malmo Symfoni Orkester in Sweden, the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony and the New York Philharmonic.
Parking passes can be acquired at each entrance to the University.
