Each week we prepare a “TIP SHEET” for Jacksonville-area media highlighting events and activities of interest to the community. Individuals attending all events on campus are reminded that $2 parking permits are required and can be purchased at the Information Booth as they enter campus.

Virtual St. Augustine Project Launched

The history of St. Augustine and the St. Johns River basin will be the focus of an ambitious project by a group of UNF students led by Professor Dan Schafer. Historical diaries, maps and drawings will be combined with aerial photos and satellite images to depict the development of the area. The information will be placed on the Internet to be used as a research tool for students and historians. Students to Load Up Food Drive Donations

The annual Psychology Department Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit Head Start families in Northeast Florida was ahead of last year’s food collection by about 50 percent with a week left in the food drive. The last day for the drive is Wednesday, Nov. 19, and students will load up trucks with the donated food at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, outside of the College of Health, Building 39.

BOT Activities

The UNF Board of Trustees will conduct a conference call at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18. Agenda items include review of audits of direct support organizations, review of Title IX Gender Equity report and legislative update. Individuals interested in listening to this call may do so by gong to www.unf.edu/trustees and clicking on the appropriate icon. A copy of the agenda may be obtained by visiting the same Web site. The board also will hold a continuation of its October workshop Thursday, Nov. 20, beginning at 2 p.m. at The Haskell Co., 111 Riverside Ave.
