Study on Juvenile Witnesses to Violence
Dr. Michael Hallett looked at more than 10,000 Jacksonville cases in which juveniles were witnesses to violence to provide hard data of the problem in Jacksonville. His research found that several ZIP codes make up the bulk of cases and that juveniles who witness three of more acts of violence are more likely to be arrested later. His results can be used by community agencies to get targeted funding for areas with the highest incidences.
To speak with Hallett, please contact the Office of News and Publications at (904) 620-2140.
