Each week we prepare a “TIP SHEET” for Jacksonville-area media highlighting events and activities of interest to the community. Individuals attending all events on campus are reminded that $2 parking permits are required and can be purchased at the Information Booth as they enter campus.
Harry Potter’s next adventure is due in bookstores June 21, and UNF’s Dr. Menia Stone has watched as communities have reacted to the young wizard. Stone teaches children’s literature and is particularly interested in the selection of books for children and censorship. If you would like to speak with Stone about Harry Potter, please contact the Office of News and Publications at (904) 620-2140.
New legislation recently was introduced in Congress to provide major funding for hurricane research. HR 2020 is designed to reduce the impact of hurricanes through a program of research and technology transfer. UNF faculty member Dr. David Lambert is part of the Florida Hurricane Mitigation Alliance that is supporting the legislation.
