BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
The UNF Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, Dec. 19, at noon in the Board of Trustees Room at the UNF University Center. Among the topics to be discussed are setting qualifications for the next president of UNF and formation of a search committee. For a copy of the agenda, go to http://www/unf.edu/trustees.
BENEFITS OF MARRIAGE
Although previous research has suggested that people who are married have better mental and physical health than others, a new study co-authored by a UNF faculty member shows that being married offers only a few social advantages. Dr. Adam Shapiro found that people who are not married tend to have an overall social life just as good an overall social life as married people. Shapiro says this study calls into question whether marriage is truly that panacea that many people think it is. To do an interview with Shapiro, call the Office of News&Publications at 620-2140.
ECONOMY AND HOLIDAY SHOPPING
Dr. Paul Mason of UNF’s Economics Department compiles economic indicators for the Jacksonville area and is available to discuss how Jacksonville’s economy is doing as the holiday shopping season enters its peak time. For an interview, call the Office of News & Publications at 620-2140.
