Investigation Conducted Into Student Death
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO CAUSE OF STUDENT DEATH
JACKSONVILLE . The University of North Florida Police Department and the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the death of a 21-year-old UNF student in a campus residence hall Sunday night.
According to police, Glenn Russell Steward of Margate, Fl. was discovered by his roommate in the bathroom of his apartment in the Osprey Cove residence hall shortly before midnight. The roommate contacted University Police who responded and determined that Steward had no pulse and was not breathing. UPD officers administered CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) in an effort to restart his heart until Jacksonville Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene. They were unable to revive him and the Duval County Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene.
Police note that there is no evidence of foul play. Cause of death is pending an autopsy.
