The University of North Florida, along with the Jewish National Fund, the Jewish Student Union, the Intercultural Center for PEACE and the Taylor Leadership Institute at UNF, will present “An Afternoon Dialogue with Ambassador Gideon Meir” from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Student Union, Building 58W, Auditorium, Room 2704, on the UNF campus.
Born in Jerusalem, Meir will discuss how his culture and politics are affected through his personal experiences as a diplomat. The material that he shares, fused with questions from the audience, will not only create connections between culture and politics but also between leaders and followers.
Meir served as Israel’s ambassador to Italy, Malta, San Marino and Foa and currently serves as the director general for public diplomacy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his ambassadorship, he served as a member of the negotiating team on the Peace Treaty with Egypt.
Additionally, he also served as the consul and administrative officer for the Israeli Embassy in Washington D.C., the director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Training Division and the deputy director-general for Media and Public Affairs in the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
This event is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow his lecture. For more information, contact the Taylor Leadership Institute at (904) 620-5934 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
