Each week we prepare a “TIP SHEET” for Jacksonville-area media highlighting events and activities of interest to the community. Individuals attending all events on campus are reminded that $2 parking permits are required and can be purchased at the Information Booth as they enter campus.



Presidential Search Meetings


The Presidential Search Committee of the University of North Florida will hold a public meeting Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. in the University Center. The purpose of the meeting is to review applications and receive any additional applications.


Bernard Kalb Available for Interviews


Bernard Kalb will bring his insider’s view of the media to UNF on Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. as part of a lecture sponsored by UNF, BellSouth and the World Affairs Council. To arrange an interview with Kalb, call the Office of News and Publications at (904) 620-2140.Kalb critiques the media as a panelist on the weekly CNN show Reliable Sources, using his background in journalism and the White House to gauge the media’s fairness and objectivity. The lecture at the University Center is free, but tickets are required and are available at the Ticket Box Office at (904) 620-2878.



Irish Poet Donovan Returns to UNF



Irish poet Katie Donovan will make a return appearance at UNF on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theatre at the Robinson Student Center as part of the John Francis Reilly Irish Studies Performance and Lecture Series. A reception and book signing will follow. Donovan, who visited UNF in 1997, has published three volumes of poetry . Watermelon Man, Entering the Mare and Day of the Dead . and wrote Irish Women Writers: Marginalised by Whom? She also spent 10 years working for The Irish Times.
