UNF Police Department Conducts Car Seat Safety Inspections
Contact: Joanna Norris, Assistant Director
Department of Media Relations and Events
The University of North Florida Police Department will conduct car seat safety inspections from 8 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the UNF Child Development Center (Building 49), which is located near the 9A/St. Johns Bluff entrance on campus.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 2 to 14, due in large part to the nonuse or improper use of child seats and seat belts.
Child safety seats and booster seats offer the best protection for children in the event of a crash. During the past 30 years, more than 8,300 children’s lives have been saved by the use of child restraints, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
For more information about this event, contact Chief Mark Foxworth at (904) 620-2800.
