Objective and Purpose:
To establish the minimum requirements for a baccalaureate degree in the College of Education and Human Services
Authority:
Academic Affairs policy; COEHS Constitution; Florida Statute Sec. 231.17; Section 6A-5.066(3)(h), FAC: and Section 6A-5.066(7)(a)2,FAC.
Policy:
Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Education are as follows:> Completion of a minimum of 120-129 degree and program related semester hours, depending on the specific education major, of which at least 48 semester hours are taken at the upper level.
- Completion of the last 30 upper-level semester hours in the degree program in residence at UNF.Completion of all field experience requirements.
- A minimum UNF grade point average of 2.5 is required for internship.
- A minimum of a C grade for all courses required in the major.
- The maintenance of a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, in order to progress toward a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree.
- Passing scores on the Florida Teachers Certification Exam (FTCE) including the Florida General Knowledge test (GK), as graduation requirements for the state approved, endorsed degree
