St. Joe Company Endowed Scholarship / Fellowship

CRITERIA:

  • Meet admissions requirements of the University of North Florida, and be accepted in the College of Education and Human Services as an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Pursue a degree in Education with preference given to students wishing to teach in an urban school and/or specialize in ESOL teaching strategies


STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Enroll full-time (12 credit hours) each semester and earn 24 credits by the end of each academic year for undergraduate students
  • Enroll part-time (6 credit hours) each semester for graduate students
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for junior or senior years and a 3.0 for graduate students
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Remain in good standing as a student


SPECIAL ESSAY REQUIREMENT:

  • Within the essay attached to your application, explain why you wish to teach in an urban school and/or specialize in ESOL teaching strategies


RENEWAL:

  • Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference, pending availability of funding, and if all scholarship / fellowship requirements have been met
  • Undergraduate students will be eligible to receive up to 4 semesters or 65 credit hours of scholarship support
  • Graduate students will be eligible to receive up to 6 semesters or 36 credit hours of fellowship support
