Florida Educational Leadership Examination 

Educational Leadership candidates seeking certification in Educational Leadership in the state of Florida are required to take the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE).

 

 The FELE is administered four times per year --  January, April, July, and October -- at the following Florida locations:

  • Coconut Creek
  • Fort Myers
  • Gainesville
  • Jacksonville
  • Miami
  • New Port Richey
The FELE covers the eight areas of the Florida Educational Leadership Core Curriculum listed in the Florida State Board of Education Rule 6A-4.0082,FAC. The eight areas are organized into three sub-tests:
  • Leadership, Management, Personnel
  • Communications
  • Curriculum, Finance, Law, Technology
 
Each subtest consists of multiple-choice questions. The Communications subtest contains an essay designed to determine proficiency in written communication. The essay is scored holistically by trained experts. Additional information is also available through the Florida Department of Education.
