**Forms which are not submitted at least one week before the first day of classes may not be approved before the payment date. In these cases, it is the employees responsibility to pay fees before the fee payment date. Failure to do so will cause a late fee to be assessed.**

Dates for other terms can be found on the Academic Calendar.

Spouse/Dependent/Domestic Partner of full-time support employees, full-time A&P employees, and faculty members who have been employed at UNF for at least six months and are in good standing are eligible to participate. The Tuition Scholarship program is available to undergraduate and graduate students. Students taking courses in Module terms are not eligible.

Florida Residency requirements must be met to be eligible. Resident Aliens and Non-Florida Residents must pay the out-of-state portion of their tuition.

This program is not available to OPS, part time, or temporary personnel.

Employees must complete the Tuition Scholarship Request online by the date listed on the above table.

How to submit a Tuition Scholarship Employee Request online

  • Access the Tuition Scholarship Program - Employee Request though Employee Services in Administrative Apps.  Use the drop-down tool to select the term and the student who named you through the Parent Portal.
  • The student's current registration will populate on the form for "ranking".  Ranking allows students to choose which courses they want covered by the waiver in the event that they are registering for more courses then their waiver covers. Ranking is required for all registered courses, but the waiver is only applied to the total amount of hours covered by the policy.  Please note that waitlisted courses will not populate until the student is fully registered for the course.
  • Click "submit" after ranking the current coursework.  You will see a "Your ranking has been successfully submitted" message as confirmation.  Please note that an error message will appear if you attempt to apply the same numerical ranking to more than one course.  You will need to supply a new rank to complete the submission.
  • You can return to this form to adjust your rankings any time before the waiver submission deadline.  The deadline is consistently set for the end of the Add/Drop period.
  • If for any reason a student is not eligible for a waiver for the term you select, you will not be permitted to pull up registration for ranking.  Instead you will receive an error message which will explain the loss of eligibility.

The spouse/dependent/domestic partner must meet current admissions criteria and application deadlines. Participating dependents can be either degree or non-degree seeking students. For application information contact One-Stop Student Services at (904) 620-5555, or visit the Admissions website.

UNF Tuition Scholarship Program Policies

  • Spouse/Dependents/Domestic Partner of full-time support employees, full-time A&P employees, and faculty of UNF may register for up to 3 hours of tuition-free courses with some restrictions. See the Tuition Scholarship for Spouse/Dependents Policy for more details.
  • Up to 6 hours per semester (for dependent children) can be waived if two parents meet employment requirements at UNF.
  • Students taking courses in Module terms are not eligible to use the Tuition Scholarship Program Waiver
  • Tuition will NOT be waived for the following types of courses: thesis, dissertation, internship, directed individual study, non-credit, sponsored credit, audited courses, supervised research courses, Continuing Education offerings, and courses taken in Module terms.
  • The Tuition Scholarship Program will NOT cover additional fees including, but not limited to, lab fees,  the Wall Street Journal Fee, Week of Welcome Fee, Osprey ID Card Fee, Orientation Fee, Distance Learning Fee, or the state-mandated Repeat Surcharge and Excess Hours fees.
  • The Tuition Scholarship Program Waiver is included in "Estimated Financial Aid" on the student's bill. It will post along with any other pending aid and the student can assume that any remaining balance should be paid.
  • Failure to submit your form by the deadline will result in you being fee liable for all courses in which you have registered.

UNF Tuition Scholarship Registration Procedure

  • Make sure your spouse/dependent/domestic partner has been admitted to the University.
  • Be sure dependents/spouses/domestic partners have associated you, the Employee, in the myWings Parent Portal.
  • The student may register for courses online or in person at One-Stop Student Services.
  • To register or check your registration time ticket online, students should visit Student Self Service located on the Student tab within the myWings web portal.
  • The UNF employee should complete the Tuition Scholarship Program Employee Request online by the deadline indicated on the above table.
  • If there are any problems with the eligibility, or registration of the Spouse/Dependent/Domestic Partner, you will not be able to pull up registration for ranking.  An error message will give you additional information as needed.

Continued Participation

  • Spouses/Dependents/Domestic Partners participating in this program must successfully complete all undergraduate courses taken under this program in order to be permitted to participate during the following term.
  • For undergraduate students, successful completion means receiving a grade of "C" or better. For graduate students, successful completion means receiving a grade of “B” or better.
  • Receiving an "Incomplete" or withdrawing from a course does not meet the criteria for continued participation.

All employees are encouraged to read the complete policy for the Employee Educational Assistance Program.
